Thigh Lift Surgery
Thigh lift surgery is a type of surgery aimed at eliminating loosening, fluctuations, and irregularities in the skin on the inner side of the legs. The loosening of the inner legs can be accelerated by gaining and losing a lot of weight, inadequate exercise, and aging. In addition to aesthetic problems, inner leg problems also disturb patients by causing friction while walking. There are various treatment methods for inner legs, which is difficult to correct due to its very thin skin structure.
Thighplasty is the removal of excess skin and fat that occurs on the upper and inner side of the thighs. Although it provides some thinning in the leg, its effect is mainly limited to the inner part of the thigh.
Thigh lift surgery are generally performed on women over the age of 40. Especially after weight gain and loss, loosening in the inner and upper thighs increases. Some skin types tend to loosen. In such patients, the problem may occur at an earlier age. While the problem in some patients is only loosening of the skin, some also have excess fat.
Excess fat in the inner side of the thigh in patients is removed by liposuction method. Then, excess skin is removed in a manner to leave a horizontal scar and the inner leg skin stretch and sutured. The vertical incision is placed on the inner side of the leg, from the inside of the thigh towards the knee. The scar is not visible when the patient is standing.
Thigh lift operation is performed in the operating room environment and under general anesthesia. It requires your immune system strong enough to deal with the anesthesia. For a quicker recovery, it’s important to stop smoking before surgery and during thigh lift recovery. Three weeks before the operation, as in all surgeries, aspirin and smoking should be stopped. Medications and similar substances that can dilute the blood should be avoided in the last week.
After thigh lift surgery, patients are usually discharged on the same day. There will be a bandage over the sutures for the first 2 days. Two days later, patients can take a bath. Since all sutures are under the skin, there is no need to remove the sutures. In the first 3 weeks, patients should not stand and walk much. After the third week, sports are allowed except running. All activities are free after the sixth week.
